Gypsy Swing Revue is a Denver-based jazz ensemble that carries on the gypsy jazz tradition of pre-war Paris, which was dominated by the work of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli. Gypsy Swing Revue's repertoire includes energetic, swinging jazz from the '30s and '40s and a cross section of modern gypsy jazz songs. They play both instrumental pieces and those that add vocals, with a focus on tight arrangements that leave plenty of room for jazz improvisation. Gypsy Swing Revue's instrumentation is similar to that of Django's Quintette du Hot Club: two acoustic guitars, upright bass, violin and vocals.
Gypsy Swing Revue has recorded two albums in the past and is set to release a new vocal album, "I Love Paris," during the summer of 2016. The band has played many jazz festivals in the Colorado area and has a summer packed with exciting performances and festivals lined up for 2016.
