Kids’ Music Adventure is the free, interactive kids’ portion of Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest, located in the Library Park Courtyard.
At Kids’ Music Adventure, kids of all ages can interact with real instruments, listen to live music performances, make their own instruments, and participate in a variety of other music workshops!
Kids’ Music Adventure is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday of the festival.
Foundation Music School is a nonprofit community school of the arts. This workshop will lead children in a drum circle and in making music with instruments and technology.
Little Kids Rock is a national organization dedicated to expanding music education. Find your inner music-maker while trying drums, bass, keyboard and guitar.
The Little Shop of Physics is a traveling science program. At “Sounds Like Science,” children will hear music inside their head, play non-traditional musical instruments and explore the science of sound.
Join the “Sing Your Heart Out” workshop to discover how fun and easy it is to sing beautiful melodies. Come and belt out your favorite songs with us.
Visitors to the FCMoD tent can experience interactives from their Music & Sound Lab like the Oscylinderscope and the Build-A-Horn, or participate in craft activities to create their own harmonicas, shakers (and more!) to take home.
At the Instrument Petting Zoo, children can try out a variety of instruments provided by Boomer Music in the woodwind, string and percussion cabins and in the brass tent.
Stop by the Make Your Own Instrument workshop at Kids’ Music Adventure to create a souvenir. Children will make and decorate one-of-a-kind tambourines and rainsticks to continue their musical experience long after the festival is over.
Toddlers and preschoolers join CSU Music Therapy students to sing favorite kids’ songs, dance, click sticks and play shakers—no musical talent required!
The second festival area specifically for kids is Kids’ World, produced by the Downtown Fort Collins Business Association. This area (located at the SW corner of Library Park) includes a carnival, mechanical rides, games and more. Don’t miss out on the fun at the Kids’ World Stage (located at the intersection of Olive and Mathews St.); watch interactive acts ranging from kids puppeteers to various dance groups.
