Bohemian Nights 2011 featured more than 80 of Colorado’s finest bands performing on six stages throughout a FREE, three-day, outdoor music festival in Fort Collins that drew thousands of music fans. With a wide variety of local and national acts performing a multitude of music styles, there was something for everyone at Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest!
Produced in collaboration with the Fort Collins Downtown Business Association as part of the annual NewWestFest celebration, Bohemian Nights brought the world of music to Fort Collins and the best of Colorado music to the world. The festival ran August 12-14 in Historic Downtown Fort Collins.
Bohemian Nights has provided Colorado musicians with a local venue to share their incredible and diverse talent every summer since 2005. National headliners also are brought in to anchor each day’s packed lineup of Colorado’s best musicians.
Bohemian Nights in 2011 kicked off Friday evening with three great bands on the Mountain Avenue Main Stage: Colorado band and 2011 International Blues Competition winner, the Lionel Young Band; followed by alt-rock band, Cracker; and ending the evening, the cool blues, hip hop and roots sounds of G. Love & Special Sauce.
The festival continued throughout the weekend on Saturday and Sunday with dozens of new, emerging and established Colorado acts performing and national headliners closing each night.
The Tedeschi Trucks Band was the headliner on Saturday night, combining two amazing performers into one of the most celebrated acts in recent years. Husband-wife duo, Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, showcased their talents and performed a blues, rock, soul-funk repertoire to wow Fort Collins.
Sunday evening ended an amazing weekend of music with Austin’s most famous Texas swing group and nine-time Grammy Award winner, Asleep at the Wheel.
